2012

We’re living in a fool’s paradise were the truth ain’t told
What lingers in our minds is gold
Not the little things we do in cold, for money to hold
Coz that’s the mode….of living
The youth’s future is sloping
Still in slavery in the 21st century
Can’t imagine, the people we call our leaders
most started ‘leading’ when I was still a foetus
sh** spreading more than the truth
and the youths being carried with the law so uncouth
it ain’t fair mixing sh** you can’t stare at
opportunity is there, but still you don’t care
about the innocent souls and the un-scored goals
the problem is up, solutions under-cover
personal interests on the table
making the two principals unable
to govern the state, coz their reasoning is wrong
dead and gone
‘your high?’…’yes your high, but still you’ll die like a fly or
Like a shunned horror
Even though by 2012 you’ll be in the diaspora
They are yawning for 2012 general elections
As am yawning and praying for 2030 vision
To come to pass, their fortunes are my precise misfortunes
My…my…not me…not you…it’s we..the youth
The so called , ‘ the future generation’…with no room
For generational change
All I hear…’salary change’ ooh! Salary increment,
Public funds embezzlement and non-development
2012…mm what’s so good about it?...i don’t see
All I can see is a different toilet with the same sh**
Running through the veins polluting the nation’s heart
I mean the youth and if that’s all about 2012
Then I would rather collapse and die on 31/12/2011
At 11:59:59 am before I step on that doomed year…2012

I SALUTE YOU, WOMEN

If I were God, ooh! God am not
I would have an affirmative action for entry into heven at the eleventh hour
For special groups of women, for the giant they managed to slay
I wouldn’t have them delayed
These exceptional cluster’s entry into heven wouldn’t be mayhemed
and these are the women i humbly salute in celebration of the wonderful
milestone made by them since the strong push for women empowerment
in 1911
Refrain; I salute you women, I salute you women and we men salute you, women
THE WIDOWS
I can think of so many ,some lost their hubbies even before they started
enjoying the joy of their marriage, maybe they were pregnant then and
the man never got to see the child them and then for
the sake of the child they, had the courage to forget their own pain as
they moved on,some have faced the wrath not of the law
but of the heartless in-laws and still managed to emerged stronger
THE PHYSICALLY HANDICUPPED/CHALLENGED WOMEN
Much as they are lacking physically in one or another they have radically refused
to be labeled beggars, I see them everyday bracing the morning cold as they
relentlessly cycle their wheel-chairs into town to go and look for daily bread
for their children
OVER-COMERS,WOMEN BATTLING CANCER ESPECIALY BREAST-CANCER,HIV,LUPUS
AND ALL BIG DISEASES
Am thinking of the Lorna Irungus, the Asunta Waguras, the Mary Onyagos and finally the late Wangari Maathai
The monster that these women battle requires tenacity and vehemence
Every time I see them I see real over-comers, overcoming these deadly ailments
With no weaponry or helmets and now they have become mightier than
the ailments
INTERNALLY DISPLACED WOMEN (IDPs-IDW)
They live in the IDPs camps, make love in the camps and give birth in the camps
I really don’t know how they do all that in the camps but what I know
Is that it takes extra love, extra strength ,extra care to make it under such
Squalid conditions ….kudos!...to you strong women.

LOST DREAMS

Born in a family of seven
Helen,couldn't wait she,
started it all at the age of eleven
the so said,practise makes perfect
but she didn't perfect it
instead she fully lost it
seeing her future vanish to hell
she couldn't spell
the word that sent her to hell
with the tri-letters in it
obsessesion with pre-marital S.E.X
got her daily on heat, later daily to sneaking out of school
spending out,life's so cool
eventualy she found herself swimming in a pool of prostitution
and continuesly boycotting remedial tuitions
hell broke loose for her,she couldn't hold a book
and think of a bright future
she was in prior rapture
couldn't get up and fight for her then dream degree
in engineering
it all got off her
the teachers were ready to offer....she turned down the offer. Helen, couldn't wait she,
